There is no purpose to become that Serious.  Time and persistence is the key – not starvation.  I'll let a balanced cat go with no food for approximately 18 hours and afterwards present them some of their frequent food if they will not eat the new food that you are introducing.  See Tricks for Transitioning.With feed-back highlighting cons
